A couple weeks ago we asked you all to come up with scene ideas for our shoot with Leona Queen. A big Thanks! to all of you who contributed. We got response here on the blog, via facebook and a lot via freeones.com . The price for the winning idea was set to be a original foto print of Leona in the shoot/outfit that we chose , and of course handsigned by her.

Among the best ideas submitted we had a ‘grease-monkey’ motorbike shoot, a black dress - red glossy lips and high heels at dinner party scene, an ancient egyptian princess and a candy set with lolly pops and all.

Well we can tell you it was hard to choose, those were all really creative ideas and very much fitting our own style. After lots of discussion we had it boiled down to two possibilities : the candy/lolli pop set and the black pencil skirt dress/high heels red lips look - a bit like the 50ies.
We had agreed to meet with Leona on a sunday afternoon in Amsterdam. And what a bright sunny day that was. So we thought : Natural Light ! and it was clear that we would shoot outside. The best look fitting the scene was: The 50ies !! We shot an extremely hot outdoor hardcore scene, which will be released later this year. The picture below is just a little preview for all.

Today, on this lovely sunny april sunday, we want to answer a question which we got from a lot of you out there. How does a shoot actually work ? Whats going on behind the scenes?
Well let us take you on a little journey through a normal day at Shw!ng. (Just for the records there are also days where everything runs absolutely NOT how you want it)

The very first step is to find a model that fits your idea for the scene. We were looking for someone that is naturally beautiful, with a slender figure, and a soft light skin tone. We also wanted a model that is professional at the same time and fun to work with. So normally that means that you need to look through portfolios from good agencies. There are quite some of them out there and thankfully we have good connections, so it is easier for us to find the models we would like to work with. Very important is to remember that not only the looks, but the attitude of a model and the fun she has working in front of the camera makes for a good picture in the end. A model can be the hottest ever, if she doesn’t like what she is doing or is bored, or unprofessional ... the end result will show it.

Next is the location, this can be anything, from small studio, an outdoor location or a beautiful mansion to a castle or even interesting places like old industry plants or building ruins. Basically depending on what your scene is you need to look for the matching location. Up to here it has all been designing the scene and getting the logistics right. Model needs to be found, location too, model booking, availability of location and own time schedule need to all match so that a date for the shoot can be found.
Once the date is set its a go. On the day of the shoot itself you have pre-shoot preparations, nothing can be left to chance.. because you only have a fixed time slot where all is available (and models are normally paid by hour or by scene). So cameras need to be ready and charged, lighting set up and tested, backgrounds and props prepared. Then the model needs to be briefed, outfits decided and the makeup artist needs to do the right makeup, fitting for the scene.

Sometimes the makeup artist is the model herself :-)

So for the scene described here we found Lena Cova, great figure, blonde hair, bright eyes, light skin tone and great to work with. Perfect.. we knew we wanted to make the scene as liite as possible so we decided for a small studio with a white background.. to get as much light color tones in there as possible. Well and then the shoot basically started. Here a couple of samples from Terri shooting Lena.

Now, the big difference between a video scene and a photo shoot is, that when taking photos each pose needs to be held still, so that all pics can be cristal clear. This means for the model to be able to move into a new pose and then stop.. move.. stop..move..stop.. and that is quite hard to do, even for models with experience. So sometimes the model looses “the red thread” as she needs to constantly stop the natural motion. In a video you can just simply let yourself go and keep moving.
Now if something like that happens, the photographers and team need to help out. We are the ones that designed the scene , so we need to know exactly what comes next. Down below you see Terri showing the start of the next pose to Lena first, and then Lena starts getting into position.. and we took it onwards from there.

When all is shot and done, depending on time, we relax, hang out, chat a bit have a drink.. or we just need to pack up and go. But oh no, the work is definitely not done yet. What comes next is ... Post Production !
Post Production is the part where the end product gets created out of the raw material you have from the shoot. Now the better you set up the shoot itself, from lighting to picture composition the less work you have afterwards. But there is always some work left. Everyone has his or her own workflow for post production, their little tricks and secrets.. and there own personal way to optimize the work. But basically what happens is that you need to get the pictures sorted, select the best ones, retouch them if necessary, cut, crop, color adjust etc. Here two examples from the finished sets : one left quite natural matching the casual young look.. and one more worked to match the strong, rich lady look. Well, we hope you now have an idea of what goes into a shoot from start to end.. and be assured its a lot of fun...yes... but it is a lot of work for all people involved.

Tests - Better safe than extremely sorry

Tests.... In the adult industry everyone has to do them.. STD (sexually transmitted disease) tests.. In Amsterdam we have a special open clinic for them. Here you know that every one in the waiting room is there for exactly the same thing as you are. Which is actually kind of comforting, as you don't have to feel embarrassed about it. Everybody comes here, from all classes, all backgrounds, from schoolgirls to bussiness men. All for the same thing: STD/HIV tests. You be surprised how busy it gets in here! The good thing is how low they have made the barrier to come in, its free and can be anonymous. They write you a prespriction if needed, and no one needs to know. Eexcept of course if you have a STD, obviously the one you might have cought it from.

When I hear people saying they never got tested I am surprised, as some STD you can't see or feel, but can cause major issues with fertility for example, the HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) can cause cancer if not treated in time. You know the thing is, that even that sweet pretty girl, or the clean, handsome looking man can have a STD, not to mention HIV. I am not saying you should be paranoid about this, but the amount of excuses people come up with to have unsafe sex are just crazy. Actually, they are dangerous and don’t respect the life of others !

Our industry used to be very safe, people looked after each other, made sure not to have any unprotected sex outside of the industry. With the industry becoming more mainstream, more people come in, and with that a whole big bunch of losers who just don't take their business and health as serious. Causing a huge rise in STD, and even HIV. Which is why I think condom only should be the norm. I loved working in France, as you just knew you would go home with a clean pussy. On other sets its a 50/50 deal. Like a big Russian Roulette we all play. Secretly, because we all stick our heads so far in the sand, we believe our own little excuses for it.

Right now a lot of actresses are escorts. They get a lot of trouble for it as they might cause problems for the business. Some people really see a huge difference in getting paid for sex on a set with 4 guys or getting paid for sex with 1 guy without camera. Its both acting. I can see their point, but don't think its that much of a difference. I would be more worried of the actors going to Brasil and Russia and have sex without condom, and all the fake tests going around. Especially in Europe, who knows if its real? I mean let's face it, its not the hardest thing to make on a computer. So here in the Netherlands, they make no distinction at the clinic...whether you are a pornstar with a big name or a window prostitute, you are a sex worker. That should bring a lot of people down to reality again. And make the industry a safer place.. hell make society a healthier place again.

Online daten- Niet eens zo een gek idee ?!

Vooral als vrijgezel zijn de gesprekken over daten natuurlijk niet van de lucht.. maar met al die creeps om je heen, is het niet meer zoals vroeger. Een club in wandelen en iemand een drankje aanbieden kan al niet. Want stel je voor dat hij wat in je drinken doet. Maar ook, wat als de 1 een relatie wil en de ander alleen seks zonder verder niks. Een groter probleem is dat velen van ons, gewoon geen tijd hebben om veel uit te gaan, te verlegen zijn om contact te maken, of een relatie al hebben en dus niet klakkeloos zomaar kunnen vreemdgaan..

Online dating is dus booming! Ik weet niet of het idd veel gevaarlijker is dan gewoon daten (uitgegaan van het feit dat je wel dus volwassen bent), en het verschil met blind dates is natuurlijk minimaal. Want of je nou de leuke meid in een club oppikt of van het internet afplukt, in beide gevallen kan het een psycho bitch zijn natuurlijk.

Wat ik wel heel eng vind van online dating zijn de vaak heel snel intieme gesprekken, het voelt nl veilig om van alles over jezelf te vertellen, als de echte namen of nummers nog niet zijn doorgegeven. Mischien zeg je wel te veel, en word je heel snel verliefd op die ideale persoon, die mischien wel heel iemand anders is. Ik denk wel in deze tijd, moet je daar gewoon rekening mee houden, dat het allemaal een grote nep is. Dat ze die mooie kaartjes in bulk sturen, en dat ze 10 cm korter zijn, 10 cm meer omvang, en een tand missen kan natuurlijk ook.. Maar dat maakt het niet minder spannend, en als je degene dan ontmoet, lijken ze vaak ergens in de verte wel op hun foto, maar realiteit is 9 van de 10x anders. Nou kan het evengoed nog leuk uitpakken, als het karakter klopt met de mails, en het uiterlijk niet meteen afstotend.. Dan kom je weer op het normale daten, als je een man oppikt die zo lief is in de club, en na een paar keer daten neem je hem mee naar huis, en daar veranderd het in een heel naar persoon. Ik zou zowiezo aanraden om te wachten een paar dates voor je iemand mee naar huis neemt. Een hotel is dan wel veel veiliger.

Het schijnt dat vooral de alleenstaande moeder erg gewillig is. Op de dating sites is zij de easy target. Want staat er vaak alleen voor, en kan gewoon de aandacht even gebruiken. Vaak hebben ook die het te druk voor een relatie en willen gewoon sex. Nou begrijp ik dat ook wel, want sex is lekker, en willen we allemaal wel eens. Maar om een vreemde die je nooit hebt gezien of gesproken meteen voor een bakkie koffie uit te nodigen lijkt me heel heftig.

Toch is het grappige dat toch wel heel veel mensen tegenwoordig hun ware vinden online, blijken dichtbij te wonen, en na weken of maanden te mailen, kennen ze elkaar zo goed, dat het meteen veilig voelt. Het is toch een soort van screening dat je heel uitgebreid kan doen, en dan hopen dat er niet word gelogen. Maar dat hoop je in welke relatie dan ook. Hoe vaak hoor je wel niet, hij/zij was toch niet wie ik dacht dat het was.. Met als extreem voorbeeld, loverboys, die meiden denken ook dat het hun lieve vriendje is, of vrouwen die geslagen worden.. ook die man was zo een schatje toen ze hem leerden kennen.

Dus voor volwassenen onder elkaar, is dat hele online daten mischien niet eens zo een gek idee?

Making of Foto Sets - A model's technical troubles ...

So.. I was working on this set we shot a short while ago. We went to a fancy hotel and were quite happy with the big windows providing lots of natural light. And as you photoshoppers out there know, then afterwards comes the whitebalancing, the contrast, the retouching etc. Anyway, after some time of arranging the right workflow and finding the perfect color and texture, I was very happy with the new action I created to automate it all. I started to put all in, and the computer crashed.. gone was my action :(
So while I now continue getting a similar automated action back together, any suggestions on how to retrieve old/crashed actions ? Any help is very welcome! Just put them in the comments field below here.

About 6 months ago an L.A. based artist contacted me, asking if i was interested in being a comic book figure. Of course I was interested and so told me his ideas and how he wanted to set it up. He said I reminded him of japanese manga art, and that he loved my face for drawing. Now I have been told the manga thing before, and his examples from his drawings immediately appealed to me. So there I was thinking... me, Terri Summers, a manga comic figure ? hmmm..why not?
We started creating ideas straight away, a figure, her character, her attitude, and that became Myya Lane - The Mercenary
The 1st two parts are now drawn, ready and available to you all. I can’t wait to hear the comments and learn how other people see it.
